One of the standout features of "Stroll the Sunshine" is the curved glass crenelated parapet wall design on each floor. Three of these walls face the sunlight, allowing an abundance of natural light to flood the interior spaces. This thoughtful design not only brings warmth and brightness into the residence but also highlights the designer's commitment to the natural environment and architectural essence.
The interior space of "Stroll the Sunshine" spans approximately 214m2. The design team has meticulously planned the layout to cater to the dweller's needs and preferences. By reducing the width of the living room through the scale of the entrance, the design gradually opens up the space, creating a sense of brightness and openness. The corridor cleverly conceals the relationship between different areas, maintaining a harmonious flow throughout the residence.
The living room, dining room, and kitchen are strategically placed on the same axis, allowing for seamless transitions between open and private spaces. The use of sliding doors further enhances the flexibility of the design, enabling the dweller to define the relationship between different areas according to their preferences.
One of the challenges faced by the design team was the issue of west-facing sunlight. To address this, the concept of an "island below sunlight" was introduced, creating a shrink-and-put relationship within the space. By carefully considering the dweller's requirements, the public areas were designed to promote circulation and fluidity, encouraging family members to interact and enjoy the natural surroundings.
The materials chosen for "Stroll the Sunshine" reflect the designer's commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency. Environmentally friendly and energy-saving materials and lighting fixtures were selected for the public areas, while the walls feature a combination of veneer and iron, creating a delicate yet rugged contrast that adds warmth to the overall design.
Yueh-Huang Liao and the Keystone Interior Design team have successfully created a residence that not only meets the dweller's functional needs but also provides a serene and harmonious living environment. "Stroll the Sunshine" is a testament to the power of thoughtful design and the integration of nature and culture into our daily lives.
